Nashik district in Maharashtra witnessed incessant rainfall over the past three days, leading to waterlogging in several areas and crop damage in the region’s rural belt. The downpour, which began on Friday evening, continued until Monday morning, disrupting normal life and causing hardships for the local populace.
According to preliminary reports from the agriculture department, standing crops across hundreds of acres have been affected, with grape and onion cultivators bearing the brunt of the damage. The district administration has assured that panchnamas will be conducted, and adequate compensation will be provided to the affected farmers after assessment of the losses.
